Senior Business Intelligence Developer / Architect

If so, Zillow needs you. As a data-driven, performance-advertising fuelled company, we will live or die by our ability to transform our terabytes of data into scalable business intelligence systems. In this role you will work closely with our business and development teams to build reporting platforms that will be used across the company. You will delve deep into our advertising products, sales channels and the behaviors of our millions of users. While the role is primarily BI development the successful candidate will have a broad skill-set also including requirements gathering, project management and testing, which affords the opportunity for the position to grow in a variety of directions as our team grows.

 Responsibilities:  

  • Collect and synthesize BI problems and requirements from across the organization
  • Architect BI solutions in collaboration with business, development and operations teams
  • Design, plan, develop, test, document and maintain best-in-class BI capabilities
  • Develop BI technology roadmap and experiment with new technologies to solve business needs

 Qualifications

  • 5 years experience minimum in BI/data warehousing required; level commensurate with experience.
  • Very strong knowledge of MS SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and database structures, including ability to query large volumes of data.
  • Experience with BI/DW system architecture and DW data modeling desirable.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes desirable.
  • Knowledge of C# desirable.
  • Ability to performance tune queries and large data extractions.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and OLAP. Proven expertise building cubes, as well as developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and MDX queries.
  • Experience developing financial reporting systems desirable.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills; ability to transform data into actionable insights which can be easily understood and utilized by the entire organization.
  • Experience working collaboratively with both business and technical team members.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to drive and monitor work by other teams and create good documentation to guide and inform work by other teams.Qualities sought include: creativity, initiative, self-starter, attention to detail, sense of ownership, result-orientation, quick learner, high energy, openness to new ideas/approaches, willingness to be flexible and do whatever you can to bring value to the team
