Zillow.com is seeking an Advertising Analyst to join our growing business analytics team. Zillow is a data-driven company with an advertising business model. Over the last two years we have developed a cutting-edge advertising technology platform for both national and local self-service advertisers. As such, the Advertising Analyst will be front-and-center in the life-blood of the company.
We need a strong team player with a unique set of business and analytic skills and interests. The candidate will support the sales, business and product teams by tracking advertising activity, as well as making strategic and tactical recommendations based on analytical approaches. Great position that can grow in many possible directions as our team grows. Must love advertising data, distilling insight from analysis and getting things done.
Responsibilities
• Synthesize reporting and analytical requirements
• Formulate KPIs and reporting specifications to provide insight into revenue, pipeline, inventory, CPMs, sell-through etc
• Provide requirements and guidance to business intelligence developers for OLAP cube and standardized reporting development
• Track advertising KPIs, and analyze trends and their drivers
• Investigate variation and drivers of ad unit performance
• Provide pricing and inventory optimization recommendations based on data trends and analysis
• Investigate and provide actionable insight into levers of self-serve ad products
• Contribute analytical insight to the planning of future ad products
• Deliver ad hoc analyses of advertising-related data to support sales & client support
Qualifications
• Solid business acumen and ability to relate business problems to analytics and vice versa.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to analyze data and translate into actionable insights which can be easily understood and utilized by the entire organization and our clients.
• Strong proficiency with the manipulation, analysis and presentation of data in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for ad-hoc analyses desirable.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with a range of partners and to present complex concepts and analysis clearly and effectively.
• Graduate degree in quantitative discipline and/or MBA highly desirable.
• Experience providing analytic support in an online advertising environment, preferably in a consumer-facing media company desirable.
• Strong organizational skills. Can track issues and work with other parties to resolve them.
